Manchester City's stunning Champions League semi-final win over Real Madrid banished the "pain" of last season's failure, said Pep Guardiola.
City produced a superb performance to beat the 13-time European champions 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, securing a 5-1 aggregate victory and a place in the final in Paris on 28 May.
Riyad Mahrez scored twice, with Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva also on target.
"We had a bad feeling in the stomach and in the chest [after losing last season's final]," said Guardiola.
"We had to come back and win this semi-final to reach the final. We cannot win five Champions Leagues in a row."
City will now face either Liverpool or Villarreal in the final, with the second leg of their semi-final taking place at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
